Awesome Blogger Award

One thing I absolutely love about the WordPress blogging community is that I’m always so blessed by the kindest and loveliest of people, whether it be through the form of supportive comments, reblogs, and simply just likes and follows. Once again I’m so thankful to Gail from Gail Loves God for nominating me for the Awesome Blogger Award! Honestly, she is the one person that showers me in love endlessly and I cannot thank her more for her beautiful blog, inspiring content, encouraging comments and blog award nominations.

The Award Maker:
The award was created by Maggie at Dreaming of Guatemala who stated:

‘This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.”

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader
  • Answer the questions your nominator gave you
  • Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers
  • Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer
  • Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated

My Questions:

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I must say, I’m not a huge fan of travelling due to my uncomfortable tendency to get sick on nearly EVERY KIND OF TRANSPORT, but if flying wasn’t so gruelling, I’d really love to visit Switzerland, and then perhaps catch a train to the surrounding countries such as Austria and Germany.

What is your biggest accomplishment?
Not something hugely prestigious but in the top two ensembles at school I finally surpassed my friend this year (we’ve been playful rivals since forever) and got the position of principal viola.

What is the most amazing blog you’ve ever come across?
Lonely Blue Boy by Juansen Dizon. It’s not just the content itself that captivated me, but I was touched by the rawness and honesty in his writing. I can relate to so many of his poems and absolutely love the way he sometimes romanticizes his illness and at other times completely speaks his mind amongst all the pain and suffering.

Chocolate or Lollies?

What is the nicest thing you’ve done for someone?
I’m quite shy so I don’t remember anything in particular…

How do you stay positive?
I attempt positive self-talk but a lot of the time it never works. Usually instead of trying to “stay positive,” I’ll distract myself from the negative by reading, writing or playing my instruments.

What’s the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Don’t remember exactly what it was but it had something to do with the Growth Mindset. My psychology teacher last year was by far the most understanding and considerate person I’d ever been taught by. Before and after every assessment, he’d always talk to us about positive-thinking and bouncing back from feelings of failure. I’d feel so comfortable and cared for in his classes and never had to hide. Unfortunately, I never had the guts to open up to him, but through him I’ve learnt to value happiness no matter the trials and tribulations– as cliché as that may sound.

What’s one book you’d always recommend and why?
I agree with Gail’s answer: The Holy Bible. While I struggle with my Christianity and unfortunately haven’t found myself in the right headspace to restore my relationship with God, I’d recommend this to anyone. Why? Because when it comes to reading people have preferences, and this book can cater for ANY preference. As long as you put your heart to it, every word will speak out and potentially change your life.

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Cookies and cream!

What is your dream job?
I’d like to have one of those dual jobs where I’m a professional violist by day and writer by night.

My nominees:

Unfortunately I don’t follow a huge amount of bloggers so here are three:

My 10 questions for you…

I’m short for time (due to school and whatnot) so here are four questions. You can choose any six of the ones I answered above plus these:

  1. Do you have a strange habit? What is it?
  2. What is something you can’t live without?
  3. If you could change one characteristic about yourself, what would it be and why?
  4. What is the most daring activity you have ever completed/taken part in?

Thank you once again to Gail for the nomination and congrats to all my nominees!

Hi there, Abbey! Thank you for dropping in on my blog! Yours looks super fun as well!! I read your About page and saw that you were Malaysian Chinese, which is EXACTLY WHAT I AM! Except that I don’t live in Australia. This is so exciting.
